More about Zadar:

The town of Zadar is situated 12 km south-east from Petrcane. It is cultural and economic centre of north Dalmatia (a province in Croatia). It is 3000 years old and it is full of old churches and monuments. The most famous is a church of St. Donatus at the old Roman forum. During the summer, visitors of Zadar have the opportunity to enjoy numerous cultural events in this town like famous Musical Evenings in the church of St. Donatus.

Nearby National Parks and other interesting places to visit:

Kornati National Park (20 nm) - archipelago of about 140 islands and islets scattered on the area of 300 sq.km, some of them boarded with cliffs over 80 m high (a boat for Kornati leaves from Petrcane every day!).

Paklenica National Park (50 km) - situated on the south border of the biggest Croatian chain of mountains-Velebit. Impressive forms of relief, and before all the 400 m deep canyon with Anic Kuk, the rock just as high towering over it - these are the main traits of this park.

Krka National Park (90 km) - situated in central Dalmatia, it encompasses the area alongside the river Krka, the beauty of this karst region, which forms many rapids and cascades on its way to the outlet into the Adriatic sea.

Plitvice National Park (150 km) - this extraordinary enchantment of world of water and woodlands, the biggest and the oldest Croatian national park at the same time, has a place on the UNESCO world heritage list. In the course of thousands of years the water had cut out the river bed and deep canyons in the land of this area...

Nin (about 8 km) - the oldest Croatian town
